A great day celebrating Sarah’s Day kicked off with the Under 15s at 9am.

Tatura came out strong, forcing the Lions to play catch up.

Sophie Butterworth got the award for her strong attacking pressure.

Isabel Meller followed with a shut down role at WD.

Congratulations to Elliana Gray from Tatura who was named Best on Court by the umpires.

Seymour 40 v Tatura 45


After a slow start in the first quarter the Lions picked up in the second quarter and began to intercept some balls in defence.

Some lovely attacking during the game from Grace Le Deux, Ella Zotti and Taylah Mason worked beautifully in the middle.

Unfortunately, a slow start cost the Lions the game.

Shona Gesler continued her strong form for the Lions, shooting with great accuracy.

Ruby Trimble picked up multiple intercepts alongside Mia Allen, forming a solid partnership throughout the game.

Chloe Locke made a return for the Lions on a special day, reading he play well and gaining intercepts.

Sarah Waite and Ruby combined well in defence with strong pressure with Layne Lewis and Casey Drummond playing fantastic games in the midcourt.

After a very slow start the Lions settled and worked together to lead at the quarter time break.

A strong second quarter saw the girls extend their lead with the defenders awesome in keeping Tatura to only four goals for the quarter.

Ashlyn Webster played a very strong game in GS.

Overall, a huge team effort for Georgia Engel’s 200th game.

Seymour 34 v Tatura 43

It was a close start for Tatura and the Lions, going goal for goal in the first quarter.

Tatura took the game away in the second and third quarters, building a 10 goals lead leading into the final term.

There were some highlights from the Lions with lots of direct leads and good feeds throughout the court by Tat proved too strong on the day.

The Seymour Football Netball Club (SFNC) will celebrate a significant milestone this weekend, with Senior Co-Coach and Captain Jack Murphy set to play his 150th senior game for the Lions. Since making his senior debut in 2015, Murphy has established himself as one of the premier players in the Goulburn Valley League. Over the past decade, Murphy has built an outstanding football resume. A dual Senior Best & Fairest winner, GVL Interleague representative, League MVP and former Coburg VFL player, he has consistently performed at an elite level while representing the Lions with distinction. While his individual achievements are impressive, Murphy's influence extends far beyond the football field. Renowned for his professionalism, work ethic and commitment to the club, he has played a significant role in driving standards and helping develop the next generation of Lions players. Now serving as Senior Co-Coach, Murphy continues to lead from the front each week and remains one of the competition's most influential midfielders. SFNC President Peter Elliott said Murphy's contribution to the Lions over the past 11 seasons has been remarkable. “Murph has been an outstanding servant of our football club and thoroughly deserves this recognition,” Mr Elliott said. “His achievements on the field are exceptional, but it's the way he goes about it that sets him apart. “He's one of the hardest workers at the club, a fantastic leader and someone who is so passionate about the success of the Seymour Lions. “He's represented our club with distinction throughout his career and continues to set the standard both as a player and coach. “To reach 150 senior games is a fantastic achievement and one that both Murph and everyone associated with the club should be proud of. “We're incredibly fortunate to have had Murph at Seymour for so long and look forward to seeing him continue to make an impact in the years ahead.”
