Seymour 21 - Mooroopna 50

Seymour took on a disciplined Mooroopna side but showed some great team connection and set some challenging play for the opposition.

Eden Webster made sure the Mooroopna goalers had to work for every ball and goal, strongly backed by Kyra Pearce.

Sophie Butterworth and Ivy Watson worked well in goals and Charlotte Bradley also had a solid second half in GS.

The Lions created many turnovers but failed to capitalise and convert these to goals.

Sienna Lynch showed individual improvement in her mid court game.

Overall, it was great to see the girls backing each other up and playing a tough four quarters of netball.

Seymour 39 - Mooroopna 36

The A Grade game started following a ceremony to mark “Say no to violence” round, including a minute’s silence and an address from Mooroopna’s President.

Following this, the action did not disappoint with a tight first quarter between two high quality teams.

The Cats then took control of the game, pushing out to a 10 goals lead entering the third.

The Lions fought hard in the third to bring the margin back to six goals at the final break with plenty of work still to be done.

An incredible 13-4 final term saw the Lions get up by three goals through tireless fight from the full squad.

A great way for the girls to finish leading into the Interleague bye.

Seven first quarter goals set the game up for Seymour, doing well to keep Tatura scoreless for the entirety of the first half. Taiten Thomas was a livewire up forward, taking some strong marks and combining well with Dale Short as both finished with four majors to their names. Joel Durham kept up his big effort in the ruck with another consistent performance, working with Curtis Powell and Cooper Lubeck through the middle of the ground.
