After a long drive up to Echuca bright and early, the girls were competitive in the second quarter and won the final term.

The girls have worked hard on maintaining their consistency throughout full games.

Sienna Lynch fed the ball into the ring all day, earning her the match award.

Eva Hay took on feedback and implemented changes with great impact, shutting down Echuca’s WA who was a primary influence in their attacking end.

Plenty of positives to take from the game.

Paige Cooper was crucial in today’s game. Paige took some amazing intercepts and rebounded well.

Taylah Mason had a tough three quarters in centre, running the middle of the court. Taylah set the pace and applied great pressure.

Sophie Butterworth’s work ethic in the circle was sensational, creating great space and shooting beautifully.

Chloe Locke dominated, hunting the ball with precision timing. Her team was able to capitalise and put scoreboard pressure on early.

The team’s patience and decision making was consistent.

The changes to the line up during the game were adapted to well with the team able to try different structuring and build confidence as a group.

Casey Drummond and Grace Barry led through the midcourt, giving energy and grunt for the Lions.




Seymour Hardware Group B GRADE

The Lions were nice and clean all over the court which allowed the girls to get up by a comfortable 16 goals.

The entire team provided strong, full court, defensive pressure with all defensive work amazing.

With the Lions working hard all game it was a well deserved win.

 


Beer Auto Group Seymour A GRADE

The sun finally came out for the A Grade game, ready for a great game of netball.

The first quarter was goal for goal, with both sides showing intensity around the court.

The third quarter was a blinder for the Lions, shooting 18 goals, setting up the last quarter run home.

Ruby Martin proved unstoppable in GK, pulling in multiple intercepts.

Great win for the Lions.

The Seymour Football Netball Club (SFNC) will celebrate a significant milestone this weekend, with Senior Co-Coach and Captain Jack Murphy set to play his 150th senior game for the Lions. Since making his senior debut in 2015, Murphy has established himself as one of the premier players in the Goulburn Valley League. Over the past decade, Murphy has built an outstanding football resume. A dual Senior Best & Fairest winner, GVL Interleague representative, League MVP and former Coburg VFL player, he has consistently performed at an elite level while representing the Lions with distinction. While his individual achievements are impressive, Murphy's influence extends far beyond the football field. Renowned for his professionalism, work ethic and commitment to the club, he has played a significant role in driving standards and helping develop the next generation of Lions players. Now serving as Senior Co-Coach, Murphy continues to lead from the front each week and remains one of the competition's most influential midfielders. SFNC President Peter Elliott said Murphy's contribution to the Lions over the past 11 seasons has been remarkable. “Murph has been an outstanding servant of our football club and thoroughly deserves this recognition,” Mr Elliott said. “His achievements on the field are exceptional, but it's the way he goes about it that sets him apart. “He's one of the hardest workers at the club, a fantastic leader and someone who is so passionate about the success of the Seymour Lions. “He's represented our club with distinction throughout his career and continues to set the standard both as a player and coach. “To reach 150 senior games is a fantastic achievement and one that both Murph and everyone associated with the club should be proud of. “We're incredibly fortunate to have had Murph at Seymour for so long and look forward to seeing him continue to make an impact in the years ahead.”
