The Lions got off to an exceptional start with Renee Sari shooting 12 from 14 in the first period to set the team up for a big score.

The defensive duo of Madi Hager and Ash Webster were too tall for the Eagles, securing many rebounds.

Hard drives from Andrea McKenzie and Lucy Zotti resulted in critical turnovers for the Lions.

Opportunities arose for B Grade to use their bench to include Under 17s players Chloe and Sophie who well and truly held their own.

The first quarter was an even contest between both sides with Dylan Scopel standing out for his run and drive through the middle of the ground. In the second term, the Lions were able to obtain some breathing space in a five goal to one quarter. While Benalla had a chance to get back in the game, inaccurate kicking in front of goal was capitalised upon by the Lions who played a great final quarter in wet conditions. Jack Murphy and Nathan Beattie were ball magnets again, with Lachlan Beattie putting in a fantastic performance after missing last week through injury.
